Driving through snow and ice can be hazardous in Wisconsin; it does get easier if you have a vehicle equipped for winter driving. Jeeps are one of the vehicles that are built to withstand and handle extreme weather conditions. With special winter tires, extra ground clearance, and All-Wheel or Four-Wheel Drive, Jeep can get you safely across muddy ruts, snowdrifts, ice, and slippery road surfaces. They also come equipped with fog lights, powerful LED headlights, and strong axles. Additionally, Jeeps have various advanced safety features like lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, rear cross-path detection, blind-spot monitoring, and active emergency braking.

The Jeep Wrangler comes from the factory with 8.3 inches of ground clearance and up, depending on the model and the trim level. This allows the Wrangler to push through deep snow with less resistance than many other vehicles if necessary. When it comes to off roading with a Jeep, the Wrangler is easily the king.

The Jeep Compass is an in-between SUV that is a comfortable ride when driving on the road, but may be able to take on some off-road trails if you outfit it appropriately. It is not the most intense trim level of Jeep, but it still has a lot of features that will allow it to compete. You get some other components that can keep you warm and toasty, including heated seats and a heated steering wheel. You’ve also got a terrain system that would ease traction and some off-road performance if you do decide to take your vehicle down a trail.

Each Jeep Renegade trim level has its own features and capability ratings. If you want to get the Jeep with the best handling in the snow, you’ll want to choose a Renegade with all-wheel drive and high-traction tires. The Latitude, Limited, and the Trailhawk trim each offer all-wheel drive and confidence in snowy road conditions. If you plan on taking your Renegade off-road, then it’s probably best to go for the Trailhawk trim, as it adds a bit more luxury to your daily drive.

The Jeep Cherokee does its job quietly and performs well – all while giving you the awesome Jeep look and the adventurous possibility of hitting some casual off-roading. The Jeep Cherokee has taken no shortcuts when it comes to safety features either. There are plenty of options here including adaptive cruise control, which is a plus on those longer trips. You have forward-collision warning with automatic brakes that can help you if there is a dangerous situation that you couldn’t plan for. You also have blind-spot monitoring among a few other features in this category.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee can also rule the roost when it comes to off roading. Although it doesn’t handle as smoothly as a Wrangler does, off roading and winter driving in a Grand Cherokee is comfortable and something the whole family can enjoy. Lite off roading, like in a field, with heated seats, possible sun or moon roof, along with 4x4 wheel drive will make this the car that the whole family can enjoy for some lighthearted activity off the road; especially if you are new to not going off road. Furthermore, if you have the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, you can seat up to 7 comfortably.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a beautiful car that handles amazing in the snow. Not only is it a comfortable ride for larger groups of people, but it also has a lot of perks that traditional Jeeps do not have. But just because you can doesn’t mean you should; we wouldn’t do any significant off-roading in a Grand Wagoneer simply because it is built more for luxury and not for intense off-road adventures.
