I got my 2016 Jeep Compass in April last year and have loved it ever since. It may not be a mustang, camaro, or a Big Bad Wrangler, but it still is great. I had never heard of the car till we went to look at it. Its almost a year later are we put in an aftermarket radio and subs and now its popin. Plus people just love it because it has the jeep name. I can be your jeep with out the Jeep price.…
Long trips, short trips and plenty of snow...

My wife and I are first owners on this jeep. Swore yrs. ago to never own one as aside from off-road, all I knew who had 'em, swore at 'em for being so unreliable, but stopped at a Jeep, Dodge, and Ford dealership on the way to check out Kia for a new Sportage as ours was 11 yrs. old at the time. Took out a Latitude with the CVT and after hearing a perpetual trans. sound, drove back to the dealer with no intent of even trying another. My wife spotted a Compass Sport with the 2.0 liter 5-speed stick shift in the lot and she loves driving stick shift so off we went again. The difference was stunning! This Jeep was dead quiet, moved out easily with the standard tranny and was several thousand less then the Latitude. Walked away from it, but within a couple days after testing Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav4...went back to dealer to test again. In short time, we decided this was the best bet. It's been extremely reliable, though FWD, it's been through blizzards, ice, etc. and has gotten us through it all while feeling stable and safe in doing so. Average in Summer is 31-33 and in Winter 29-31. Use Synthetic oil, have changed tires and had front brakes re-done around 50 K. The seats and fabric are both comfortable and "soft touch" , heater comes on strong in Winter and Same goes for AC on my trips to TX and 110 degree days. One of the smoothest transmissions much to the enjoyment of my wife. Lastly, as days get shorter in Winter, have nothing but praise for the excellent headlights as well as the fog lights...this is something few take into consideration, but our Compass we feel is exceptional in this regard.…
A real Sleeper!

I wasnt sure I liked this rig at first after trading in my Liberty CRD I no longer needed. This CVT Compass has a learning curve. Kinda tricky at first given its very quick take off and somewhat delayed accelerated passing response. You have to learn to think ahead always a good idea anyway allowing the CVT to spool and be ready when you have to put full metal to the pedal. Then it takes off like a bandit --kinda scary since you gotta let her wind into the 6500 rpm range and stay there governed! Now were talking sporty!
I get ~ 20 town I live up a hill, and 26 - 29 highway 4wd. Very inexpensive to maintain with the 2.4L 4 cyl World Engine. Uses regular oil, oil and filter changes every 3K, 21 @ my dealer, regular spark plugs 35K intervals, and thats it for routine service! The world engine was designed for ruggedness may be turbocharged and simple maintenance. No timing belt worries -- its an oil-bathed steel chain, are the CVT pulleys and chain!
The interior is very simple -- the whole inside can be hosed out! No doggy or mud worries. There is a CVT mode that allows paddle-like shift ratio holding as well as a 4wd lock for trail and downhill braking assist. The CVT compass is great in the snow or other slick situations. When the 4wd differential lock is off, there is a slipping indicator in the dash that shows when the AWD drive is automatically engaged when any of the drive wheels slip. I have yet been forced to use 4wd lock system.
This crossover compact SUV continues to surprise me and gain my admiration -- and my wife loves it, can we take the jeep?, drivers height and visability are great.…
