Did you just realize that your lease will be expiring soon? (Did we accidentally remind you?) It’s a big decision to make, and because this will have a long-term impact, it’s important to weigh all your options and then go forth accordingly. There are several different ways that can work:

Staying the Course

If you’re perfectly happy with your vehicle and the lease arrangement you have right now, all you will need to do is sign a new agreement.

Upgrading Your Model

If you like your car but it’s a few years old, you may want to swap it for a newer model. The benefit of this is more updating not only technology and different options on your car, but safety standards are constantly moving and changing.

Trying Something Different

Your lease coming to an end gives you an excellent opportunity to try a different type of vehicle if you aren’t crazy about the one that you have now. If you’ve been driving a sedan, maybe you want to see what an SUV or pickup is like for a while. If a SUV is too big for you, maybe moving a step down would be a better option for your everyday use.

Buying the Vehicle

If the thought of having to give up your car is making you sad, it could be time to make things more permanent by buying it.

Turning It In

Finally, you can just turn the car back into the dealership. Once the lease expires, you have no more obligation to the vehicle. You may, however, be on the hook for fees related to going over the mileage limit depending on your lease agreement.
