The Jeep Wagoneer....what is it? Some of us vaguely remember the name while others have been wanting a comeback like this for a long time. Is it a wagon? An SUV? Does it still have wood paneling?
The original Jeep Wagoneer was originally a full-sized SUV type of design for its time originally between 1962-1991. The Jeep Wagoneer was a successor for the Willy Jeep Station Wagon that had been built since 1946; specifically, during World War 2. It also shares similarities with the architecture of the Jeep Gladiator truck and then was known as a station wagon, pioneering the idea of a Sport Utility Vehicle (otherwise known as an SUV). It initially became available in rear wheel drive and later had options for 4-wheel drive with an unchanged body structure.
The name Jeep Wagoneer was briefly reintroduced in 1993 and 1994 as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It came with lots of bells and whistles, including its signature wood paneling and unique leather interior.
But after many talks and attempts since January of 2011, the Jeep Wagoneer became a reality in October of 2021 with 2022 models becoming available and new models arriving here at Schmit Bros regularly. It comes with oblong headlights that stand out, a multi hole grill, and many emblems of the name and model located all over the car.
A traditional Jeep Wagoneer is equipped with rear wheel drive, but optional 4-wheel drive is available as well and is offered with 4 specific trim levels: The Jeep Wagoneer Series I, Series II, Series III, and the Jeep Wagoneer Obsidian, which will be exclusive to the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Many options are available based on trim levels including U Connect, Apple Car Play, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Sirius XM radio when it comes to your listening experience. You also have the option of a virtual assistant- how cool is that?
The “new” Wagoneer has been super successful since it’s reintroduction due to its level of luxury, along with the extra seating and cool new features. It looks like the Jeep Wagoneer is here to stay!
