There's no better indication that electric vehicles (also known as EV’s) are making their way into more mainstream car culture than the 2024 Dodge Charger concept. Electrifying one of the best muscle cars for Dodge is a big deal, and it's one that comes with big payoffs. The next-generation Charger will have Stellantis's large EV platform, which is said to deliver up to a 500-mile range. Dodge is being sneaky and has not released a ton of information about the new Charger powertrain either, leaving us to wonder what we might see next year for the Dodge Charger. We do know that the styling is a nod to classic Charger models and bringing back the Fratzog logo, which was used on Dodge vehicles in the 60’s and 70’s. The Charger Daytona SRT concept features a chambered exhaust system that is said to make the same sound as the supercharged V-8 SRT Hellcat model. WOW!
The 2024 Charger will probably have a variety of trim levels, but we only know of three. Dodge has also said the most powerful model will be called SRT Banshee. Dodge also hasn't said how many motors will power the new Charger, but the entry-level is said to make 455 horsepower.
The high-performance trim, supposedly called SRT Banshee, will use an all-wheel drive that has a horsepower rating that hasn't been revealed yet. We also know that instead of a typical EV setup, the concept uses multi-speed transmission.
Rather than the tradition four doors on the Dodge Charger, the 2024 Charger concept is rumored to be a two-door coupe. The trunk is a liftback-style that opens to a large cargo area. Also, the rear seats fold flat to create extra space for bigger items. We think a fresh set of new tires will fit back there brilliantly.
We also know that there’s going to be a large panoramic glass sunroof as well. The interior has elements of modern technology with old school Dodge design themes with nods from the 60’s and 70’s and includes a textured trim that's supposed to replicate the grille from the 1968 Dodge Charger. The Dodge Chargers of the 60’s and 70’s are arguably some of the most innovative and best designed original pony cars of all time.
We also know there is going to be a trapezoidal-shaped infotainment touchscreen and an oblong digital gauge as well. Whatever the final design will be in the 2024 year of the Dodge Charger, the next-generation will offer the latest version of the Uconnect infotainment center and is expected to offer features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, built in Wi-Fi, and over-the-air update capability.
