Did you know that the Dodge Hornet was initially another brand of another car AND it was a concept car in 2006? The Dodge Hornet was a concept car designed and developed by Dodge and revealed in 2006. This happened to be Dodge's first attempt at building a car this small (the original concept of the Dodge Hornet is very different than the version released in 2023), the car was expected to be released in 2010, but following the 2009 financial crisis and the restructuring of the Chrysler Group, the concept was dropped. First used on a Hudson model and then AMC, rights to the Hornet name were then passed to Chrysler, who owns Dodge, with the acquisition of AMC in 1987. Later, the idea of a smaller sedan was given to the Dodge Dart and the Dodge Hornet name was shelved for about a decade.

In August 2022, a rebadged and restyled version was unveiled as the Dodge Hornet, exclusive to the North American market as the smallest, entry-level SUV offering from Dodge. The Hornet received a restyled front end, headlights, and taillights, something different than some of the other Dodge SUV products on the market. Eventually the Dodge Hornet wants to come out with a pretty sporty version of itself called the Dodge Hornet GLH (Goes Like Hell) but for right now it’s a concept car idea.
