The Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer were recently reintroduced to the market after a small hiatus, and they are back with the special “Wagoneer” name. Understandably, there’s been some confusion between the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the Jeep Wagoneer name and differences. So, we've laid out the differences found between the Jeep Wagoneer and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Probably the biggest confusion is whether or not they are the same vehicle. The Grand Wagoneer has more luxury features than the traditional Wagoneer, hence the added word Grand. But they are two separate vehicles and Jeep makes them each differently. One of the main differences is the space in each model.

The Grand Wagoneer is a luxury, full-size SUV model. This means that it comes standard with a higher-performing power train and includes more luxury features that come standard vs the traditional Wagoneer.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has four available trim levels: Series I, II, III, and the Obsidian trim. They each come standard with a 471-horsepower, 3.6L V8 engine. The Grand Wagoneer also comes standard with four-wheel drive, whereas the Wagoneer comes standard with rear-wheel drive.

Once you step inside the Grand Wagoneer, some pretty key differences will stand out. The most obvious difference is the much bigger touch screen display in the front. The Grand Wagoneer maxes out at 75 inches of space on the front row display screens, and that doesn’t include the option to rear seat entertainment screens. Other highlights include walnut trim and leather seating, which will create comfort that is unique to the Grand Wagoneer.

With the Grand Wagoneer in the luxury space on the SUV side of the board, the Jeep Wagoneer is a more mainstream SUV. The Wagoneer trades some of the high-end features of the Grand Wagoneer for a more affordable price. As a mass market full-size SUV, the Wagoneer is still toward the top of its class. The Jeep Wagoneer comes standard with a 392-horsepower, 5.7L V8 engine The Wagoneer does have an advantage in seating. Some models can seat up to eight passengers, while every Grand Wagoneer maxes out at seven. The Wagoneer has three available trims: Series I, II, and III.

The label on the Wagoneer does not mean that there is no luxury when it comes down to it. It offers features like wireless connectivity, divide charging, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
