In 2008 after a small hiatus, the Dodge Challenger flew with wicked vengeance speed back into the automotive industry in its original form; back and ready to cruise just like it never left. Initially introduced in the 1970 model year, the Dodge Challenger was a pony car in a class of its own. With introductions to the HellCat and Scat Pack trim level, which are names synonymous with “pony cars”, the Dodge Challenger has a bare minimum of 300 horsepower on its most basic trim level, which is around double the power of a traditional car.
When initially introduced, the Dodge Challenger was what Chrysler intended to be the most potent pony car ever at the best price. Available in multiple trim levels and other options, it could also be matched with virtually any engine that Chrysler had in its inventory. Revived for the 1978 model year, the Dodge Challenger wanted to emphasize its sporty side with brighter colors and different tape stripes to give it an edge over the competition.
On its way back from the archives in 2008, the Dodge Challenger has major momentum moving forward. Reaching back to its roots, it was teased in late 2005 that Dodge was going to bring the Dodge Challenger back in its previous form and people took notice and were ready for the resurgence.
All Dodge Challengers come standard with a V6 engine, 300 horsepower, and 8 speed as an automatic and 6 as a manual. Armed in retro form and sharp colors, the Dodge Challenger was ready for a revamp back to its original foundation that served it well in the 1970’s.
The different trim levels for the Dodge Challenger are the Dodge Challenger SXT, the Dodge Challenger RT, The Dodge
Challenger GT, the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, the Dodge Challenger HellCat, and the Dodge Challenger HellCat Redeye.
With some Dodge Challenger’s armed with our famous “Hemi”, the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, the Dodge Challenger HellCat, and the Dodge Challenger HellCat Redeye all come equipped for speed and power. With the Scat Pack and HellCat both with 6.4-liter turbo hemi and 700 horsepower, it is 5 times stronger than traditional vehicles. The Dodge Challenger HellCat Redeye is a 6.2-liter with turbo high output and 840 horsepower.
The Dodge Challenger is top of the line when it comes to Dodge’s “pony cars” and its restoration has served it well. With sales increasing since it came back, the Dodge Challenger shows no signs of slowing down.
