Dodge and Ram tricks are often associated with one and other, and for good reason. Dodge first used the name “Ram” in 1932 all the way through 1954 as a branding for their work trucks. Initially, all the trucks had a Ram hood ornament as a symbol of the hard work and strength that the Dodge Ram truck stood for. This hard-headed beast has no fear and no problems taking initiative. Often seen as a leader, this animal has inspired our trucks to do the same. The name Ram appeared again in 1984, revamped, after retiring the Dodge D truck series that took over in the early 70’s. Many different models of the now specifically named Ram trucks are consistently on our lot here at Schmit Bros.

In 2011, Ram separated from Dodge as its own brand to focus on trucks while Doge continued its focus on cars alone. The Ram is currently in its 5th generation under Ram, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Just like Ford did, the initial Dodge Ram had indicators for weight restrictions- hence the F-150, F-250, and F-350. The first-generation Rams were essentially face lifted and revamped from the Dodge D trucks. In 1989, Dodge made a bold move and introduced the Cummins diesel engines in the Dodge Ram pick-up trucks.

There have been several types of Dodge and Ram trucks over the course of its history. It starts with the original pick-up trucks in the early 1950’s to the DO series of the 70’s- from the Ram Daytona to the 1500 to the Ram Rumble Bee and our current models like the Rebel, the Bighorn, and the XLT. Dodge has stayed consistent in their products after the Ram name was brought back in the 80’s and flew with the idea of a truck simultaneously being rugged and hardworking while also being luxurious and eloquent.

After the 5th generation of Ram was released in 2015, the many different trucks included the Ram Tradesman, the Ram XLT, the Ram Laramie, the Ram Big Horn, the Ram the Ram 1500, the Ram 2500, the Ram 3500, and the Ram Rebel; all of which can be found on our lot.
Consistently up to date with technology, carbon foot printing, and the needs from the construction worker, the bachelor, and the family of 4, Dodge and Ram have something for everyone.
